Brief Description: Fuel gauge and electrical layout
Spent the day shopping for parts locally and placing orders to Aricraft Spruce and McMaster-Carr for the sight tube system, crankcase vent, and some electrical components.
Revised the plumbing for the sight tube. I ordered some slightly different fittings from McM-Carr that hopefully will simplify the installation.
Made a mockup "tray" that sits below the upper engine mount tubing. I saw a similar setup on an RV and it might solve some of the mounting space problems others have had to overcome when mounting everything on the firewall. Coils, master relay, and voltage regulator could be mounted here with room to spare. There might be some additional benefit by locating the components behind a "heat shield" above the heat sources. There will be a gap at the back of the tray to allow air from the oil cooler to escape to the lower section of the cowling.
The oil/air seperator will mount on the firewall below the tray. There is still room on the firewall for extras such as a smoke system tank if desired.
